FAQ

How did Daniyal’s World Start?

As a Parent to an Autistic Child finding appropriate clothing or stimulating toys can become more challenging as they grow older, particularly when adaptive clothing designed for younger children is no longer available in their size. Daniyal's World is looking to bridge this gap with adaptive clothing, as well providing sensory friendly stimulant toys,  tried and tested by my own son.

When conversing with other parents or caregivers, the problem of finding suitable clothing is a common challenge. As soon as appropriate garments become available, mainstream stores often sell out rapidly and at high prices.

What are the Challenges Daniyal’s World looking to address?

Daniyal’s World is addressing three primary concerns:

1. Limited Availability of Larger Sizes: Many sensory-friendly or adaptive clothing providers focus on younger children, which leaves older children, teenagers, and adults with limited options.

2. Design Assumptions: Some clothing brands assume that as children age, they will outgrow certain sensitivities or requirements. This is not the case for many autistic / SEN individuals, who may continue to need features like easy-on/easy-off garments, with a significant emphasis on safety and preventing access to areas that could lead to smearing.

3. Inclusivity Deficit in Fashion: The mainstream fashion industry often caters only to typical developmental stages, neglecting the persistent needs of children with disabilities as they mature. Consequently, parents may find themselves seeking adaptive clothing in the adult section, which may not offer appropriate styles or fits for older children or adolescents.

What is Daniyal’s World doing to address this?

For children with specific needs, working with trusted suppliers to modify mainstream clothing—using popper technology or softer fabrics and zips for security. Daniyal’s World is a small business specializing in custom designs for individuals with autism/special needs, or 'special abilities' as we prefer to say. We collaborate with a trusted network of global suppliers to provide adaptive clothing for all SEN children. Recognizing the long journey ahead as a small business, our store also offers sensory-friendly toys that we would confidently choose for our own child.
